1Password is the easiest way to store and use strong passwords. Log in to sites and fill forms securely with a single click. This extension requires a 1Password membership. If you don't have one yet, you can sign up when you install the extension and try one free. 1Password is a password manager that keeps you safe online. You want to use different passwords for every website, but it can be hard to keep track of them all.

Get help when you see a message that you need to delete 1Password and download it again from the App Store.

About the message

If you see this message from the App Store, it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with 1Password. Your data is safe.

What you should do

Try the following steps if 1Password doesn’t start up correctly and you see this message. If one of the steps resolves the issue, you can stop there.

  1. Restart your Mac.

  2. How to merge gmail contacts into icloud. Open the App Store app and choose Store > Sign Out.

  3. Open 1Password. If asked, sign in with the Apple ID that you used to purchase 1Password.

  4. Quit 1Password and drag it from your Applications folder to the Trash. It’s safe to move the 1Password app to the Trash. This will not affect your vaults, saved data, or settings.

    Important

    Be wary of using an uninstaller app like AppCleaner, AppZapper, CleanApp, and other similar apps. Uninstaller apps prompt you to delete supporting files when moving an app to the Trash, and this can result in accidentally deleting all your 1Password data.

  5. Open the App Store app and install 1Password:

    macOS Mojave 10.14 or later

    1. Click or your photo in the sidebar.
    2. Click next to 1Password in the list.

    OS X Yosemite 10.10 or later

    1. Click Purchased in the toolbar.
    2. Click Install next to 1Password in the list.

If you don’t see your 1Password subscription in the App Store (Mac) or Settings app (iOS), make sure you’re signed in with the correct Apple ID. If so, you might have started your subscription on 1Password.com and not using an in-app purchase. Learn how to manage your subscription on 1Password.com.

Only individual and family subscriptions are available with an in-app purchase. You cannot change your account type after you’ve started your subscription.

If you want to switch between monthly and annual billing, view your subscriptions with Apple and choose 1Password. Select monthly or annual billing.
